Still with all the Zumba® fun and party feeling, this is a great class to learn the basic steps, in a fun, friendly and sociable atmosphere. Participating in a pre-recorded class is very different to participating in a class face-to-face with the instructor. Whilst both are fun, there is a bigger responsibility on you as a participant in a pre-recorded class to ensure that you follow instructions to get a safe and effective workout. Your instructor is not a medical practitioner and cannot advise whether any condition could be adversely affected by participating in online classes. The responsibility lies with each online participant to decide whether they wish to join or continue with a class, assisted by any medical advice they may wish to obtain. However, your instructor reserves the right to suggest you do not participate in activity until discussion with a medical practitioner has taken place and that in some cases, your instructor may ask you to provide a letter from a medical practitioner confirming fitness to participate. You have the right to request advice from your instructor prior to the online class being undertaken and, but not exclusively, its suitability for you, with particular regard to health and clothing. If you choose not to request advice, or to disregard any advice so given, you do so voluntarily and accept liability for all resulting injuries or damage. The following requirements for participating in pre-recorded classes should be understood and adhered to: DOs • Make any online payment in advance of the scheduled class start time. Payments sent after this time may not be cleared/notified in time and therefore admittance online may not be possible. • Turn off (or silence) ringing and notifications on your device and any others in the room to avoid disruption and distraction during your exercise time. • Remove any rugs, furniture and other tripping/bump hazards to ensure there is sufficient space available to exercise • Ensure floor surface is even and smooth, suitable for safe movement. If dancing on carpet, you may need to wear ‘dance sliders’ (or similar, eg pop socks) over your trainer sole to facilitate smooth action. If these are not available, make sure you do less twisting actions. • Limit access to the room to just those participating in the class, ie those who have booked and paid for the session. Others in the room are not covered by insurance to take part. In particular, limit child and pet access to your dance space, for safety reasons. • Wear comfortable exercise clothes and dance footwear/trainers throughout the class. It is not possible to do the class in bare feet, socks/tights, or wearing ‘normal’ every day shoes. ZUMBA® moves are energetic and correct footwear is essential to prevent slipping, and provide some cushioning against the impact of jumping, bouncing, stamping, etc. • Have water available and keep hydrated during and after class. Have the room well ventilated. • If you don’t know a routine … keep moving! “Fake it til you make it” is the best way to learn steps and routines – you really won’t learn or enjoy it more by standing out. • If you need to take a breather and step out briefly for a rest, please do – however keep the feet moving … stopping completely can result in blood pressure issues and blood pooling in muscles, causing cramping and injury. • If you need to finish prior to the end stretches please make sure you stretch out afterwards. Not stretching can lead to injury, aches and pains. DON’Ts: • Do not share the entry code for classes with anyone else. Access is restricted to those who have booked and paid for the session. • You should not exercise if you feel unwell and if there are any changes in your health during exercise, you should stop participating and seek help or treatment as required. • NO RECORDING in any format (audio or visual) of the session taking place is permitted. • No eating, chewing gum or sweets while dancing.
